Employment Law


Employment law is one of the fastest growing practice areas nationwide and for the firm. Baylor Evnen regularly represents both small and large employers on a host of employment issues, including discrimination and sexual harassment claims, matters arising under the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Nebraska Fair Employment Practices Act, Nebraska's Workers' Compensation Act, and many of the other myriad of laws which may affect employers.

Our approach to employment law begins with recognition of the fact that with proper planning, many employment claims can be avoided. We regularly assist employers with the preparation of personnel manuals and policies designed to avoid claims or strengthen our client's defense if such a claim is made. We encourage our clients to consult with us if they have questions about how or about whether a specific employment decision may lead to a claim. Attorneys in the firm frequently consult with clients at their place of business and make presentations on how they can reduce or eliminate the possibility of employee claims.
