Baylor Evnen History Baylor Evnen's founding partner was a Cornell University graduate and former District Court Judge named Addison S. Tibbets who left the bench to start a private practice in 1896. In 1900, he formed a partnership with Walter Anderson, a veteran of the Spanish-American War. Mr. Anderson had served with Theodore Roosevelt as a member of his famous "Rough Riders" regiment. In 1910, F.B. Baylor graduated from Michigan Law School and joined Mr. Tibbets and Mr. Anderson as the firm's first associate. With the advent of World War I, Mr. Anderson left the practice to return to the military where he served as an infantry captain. With the departure of Mr. Anderson and after the death of Mr. Tibbets in 1915, Mr. Baylor continued the practice on his own, moving his offices to the Terminal Building at 10 th and O Streets in Lincoln. In 1926, the firm was relocated to the newly constructed Sharp Building at 13 th and N Streets, where it would remain, and expand, over the next 77 years. In 1940, Baylor hired a young man named Hyman Evnen, a Russian immigrant who had graduated from the UNL College of Law. Together, Baylor and Evnen began a general litigation firm that still proudly bears their names. Years of dedication and legal successes established Baylor Evnen as one of the most highly regarded legal firms in the area. In the following decades, Baylor Evnen's achievements have been enhanced by the contributions of many talented and creative attorneys. Currently, the firm employs 27 attorneys and over 30 support staff. Significant growth has occurred in attorney representation as well as the size and diversity of its client base. The firm has evolved from F.B. Baylor's original practice that specialized in insurance defense to a broad-based litigation and business practice that offers experience, depth and expertise in nearly every area of the law. Baylor Evnen has been located in Lincoln's Wells Fargo building at 13 th and O Streets since 2003. The space was designed to support collaboration and allow for continued growth in staff and the latest in supportive technology. The result is a modern facility that fosters collegiality and collaboration between attorneys as specialists in their respective branches of the law, and mentoring of newer attorneys and paralegals by experienced professionals. Never before in the history of Baylor Evnen have we offered such a diverse range of expertise in nearly all areas of the law. We have built the finest team of attorneys and support staff, dedicated to providing expert legal services with a fierce commitment to our client's goals.
